The FWSQ: Bow Tie Block

OK, this is not my favourite. Actually, I am very happy with how it turned out, but the block pattern itself is not a winner with me. I don't know what it is about it, but I have never liked Bow Tie blocks. It is strange, really, because I pretty much like everything. But not this block. In fact, I almost didn't make this block.

The original had a very plain looking dark blue in the centre. I used the stripes to give it some direction, and in the hope that it will look less like a bow tie.

But then you have to remember that all of these block will be set on point. So, I don't think anything will make it look less like a bow tie. We will see how it looks when all the other blocks are made.

This block was rotary cut and machine pieced and is unfinished at 6.5".
