New Project: Rainbow Granny Stripe

I will admit it. I love granny crochet! I love the Granny Square, the Granny Ripple and the now the Granny Stripe. There is something very meditational about the rhythm of 3 trebles in the same stitch in granny crochet. 1 - 2 - 3 - breathe, 1 - 2 - 3 - breathe. I love it.
So, when I saw this pattern on Attic 24's blog, I just knew I had to make one. And for this I needed more yarn. Of course.

This time I wanted to try the Carnival range at Big W. This is an 8 ply yarn by Panda Yarns. It is made in India. I bought 1 ball of 13 different colours to create a rainbow effect. The yarn is 100% acrylic, machine washable, and there is 310m per ball. I can't remember the price exactly but I think they were around $3.50 each.
I have to say I have been very impressed. I haven't found any joins in the yarns at all, it doesn't split easily, and it is spun very consistently with no slubs or thin spots. Plus the colours make me happy!
I started with 150 chain and I am going to keep going until I run out of yarn. Ideally I would like to finish on the emerald green. I don't think I will put a border on it. I am really loving how it looks at the moment, except for all the tails.
Look at all those tails!
